Lately I’m posting to quite a few blogs to publicize my own website, most of the blogs I am working on are wordpress based, so far we all agree that WordPress is ideal for almost all kinds of blogging needs, people even use it as CMS, with the fact that its licensed under GPL make the wordpress the most favored blogging kit around the globe.
Then I found out that I probably should build blogs myself, afterwards I can use the already built blogs to promote whatever I want, this is not something new, there are a lot of blog networks out there doing just that, the thing is that I don’t control those blogs, in addition there is no way I can post to them, its easy to understand that the price on those networks won’t be cheap.
If you have tried to maintain a few different blogs you will know its not easy, if you’re not going to just put spams on them, the real content writing is time and money consuming, remember real value is always difficult to achieve. I’ve seen quite a few real world examples, such as this one, Free Dog Harness, the domain name is pretty good, the content on the site is not bad, without a clear theme, you’ll find all kinds of different posts there. Here is another one, Winch Strap Close Look, this is a themed blog, all posts are following the same theme, there are a few well ranked keywords for this blog. there are more sites like these out there, but the basics are all the same. Here is one last note, you should build some casual blogs, put some random content on those blogs occasionally, just like this blog, Heavy Duty Chains and Binders, doing this right you will have a natural blogging networks.
When you already have a few interesting blogs, probably you can add a few more blogs to your arsenal, use the old ones to promote the new ones, this way you get your little blog network rolling. This is just an idea, to build a successful network will be much more complicated, one of the most important things is that don’t get your site black listed by major search engines.
